AVERIL POTTER - Owner

Ballet instructor for Major Students and Company Director

Averil Potter trained in dance and drama at the Arts Educational Schools in London, England.  She attained the Advanced level of the Royal Academy of Dance, and also of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, which included Greek, National, modern branches and gold medal in the ballroom branch.

She was awarded the President’s Honour Performance Award for Creativity and Excellence in the performing arts in Trinidad and Tobago in 1994, along with other recipients.

Averil Potter partners Eve Bentley in the Bentley Potter School of Dance at the Cascade Studios.  She is Director/Choreographer of the Cascade Festival Ballet, the school’s company, which celebrated its 20th anniversary 2016.

EVELYN BENTLEY - Owner

Financial Controller, Ballet instructor for the Lower School

Eve Bentley started her dance training in Trinidad with Helen Mary Kay.  At age 13 she went to England to train at The Arts Educational School.  Eve then performed professionally in London which included the London Palladium. 

Returning to Trinidad after her marriage to actor Arthur Bentley she taught from 1961 for Helena Dunn

daughter of Dame Marie Rambert.  The Bentley Potter partnership with Averil Potter was formed in 1970.  Eve has choreographed for Belvedere, Love Movement and Light Opera Society.  She continues to teach and choreograph for the school's biannual productions.
